Company
Description
International
Solar Electricity Technology (ISET) is a rapidly growing
Solar Energy Company engaged in the R&D and
manufacturing of printable thin film photovoltaic cells.
ISET is commercializing its patented technology to
fabricate low-cost Copper-Indium-Gallium Selenide (CIGS)
solar cells and modules for terrestrial, portable, and
space applications using rigid and flexible substrates.
Having recently expanded to a larger facility, ISET is
positioned to be a leader in the manufacture of CIGS
solar cells.
Position
Summary
This individual will be responsible for
developing a thorough understanding of device
performance based on the structure of the thin film CIGS
solar cells made by ISET’s low-vacuum process, recommend
improvements in device structure, and analyze the impact
of process parameters on device performance. Modeling
of device structure and device and process parameters
will be required for the analysis. A substantial
portion of the individuals activities will involve hands
on fabrication of the CIGS solar cells for device
analysis. The individual must be self motivated,
disciplined, organized and be able to work in a
collaborative, multitasking environment with minimal
supervision and with a focus on delivering project goals
in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
-
Development of a thorough
understanding of the device structure of the thin
film CIGS solar cells made by ISET’s non-vacuum
process
-
Characterization of the materials and
semiconducting properties of thin film CIGS solar
cells
-
Assist in improving the solar cell
fabrication process using feedback from improved
understanding of device structure and materials
properties
-
Design and execution of experiments
and data analysis to support understanding of device
structure
-
Support and guide process scientists,
engineers and technicians.
-
The applicant may be asked to
participate in developing research proposals and
writing grant applications
Qualifications:
MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT
(Applications not explicitly
stating citizenship/visa status either in cover letter
or resume will not be considered.)
-
M.S. / Ph.D. in Physics, Applied
Physics, Solid State Physics, Material Science,
Materials Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
B.S. Candidates with relevant experience will be
considered. Candidates with relevant experience
with degrees in other fields may also be considered.
-
Experience in semiconductor device
physics analysis and modeling, preferably in the
field of photovoltaic's (solar cells),
optoelectronic devices (LEDs etc)
-
Experience with commercial device
analysis programs and writing custom programs.
-
Willingness and ability to fabricate
CIGS solar cells and perform characterization and
testing.
-
Demonstrated problem solving skills
with ability to communicate across diverse company
functions.
-
Good oral and written communication
skills. Will need to write up and present
experimental results, project status reports, and
make project recommendations.
-
Ability to acquire technical
expertise in new areas quickly.
-
Strong interpersonal skills and
ability to collaborate and lead within a culturally
and functionally diverse organization.
-
Ability and desire to work in a R&D
environment with multiple project responsibilities
and changing priorities.
-
Knowledge of CIGS technology,
photovoltaic technology or Labview, a plus.
The work environment at ISET offers
growth and learning opportunities as part of a
fast-paced and expanding company. ISET offers a
competitive compensation package, commensurate with
qualifications and experience.
